ABOUT HEELS TO HEAL
HEELS TO HEAL, INC. is a Non-Profit Charity Organization that raises donations to help Women and Children that have been Victims in the event of a traumatic occurrence such as Rape, Sexual Assault, or Kidnapping and are in need of Mental Therapy/Counseling services, Medical Care, etc. The Motto for our Charity Organization is “Women Healing Women and Children”. It is HEELS TO HEAL’s Efforts and Consistent Passion that help raise Donations for Victims/Survivors in need of Mental Therapy/Counseling services, as well as offer Resources toward Support and Direction for those dealing with Mental Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, etc that generally occurs after a Rape, Sexual Assault and Kidnapping for a Victim/Survivor.
HOW DONATIONS ARE RAISED?
Donations are primarily raised by hosting a multitude of events creating community involvement in efforts to raise donations toward a Victim’s needs; whether the need is mentally, physically or medical related. Through HEELS TO HEAL’s passion to help, expertise and diversified talents we have organized Fashion Shows, Art Exhibits, Jewelry Shows, 1920’s Theme Party Fundraiser, etc. In many cases, “Heels to Heal” may partner with other non-profit organizations (ex. St Petersburg Sunset Provisional Rotary Club, Family Service Centers now called ‘Suncoast Alliance’) , as well as generous local businesses willing to help support the cause, creating more involvement and passion in fundraising for a great cause.
HEELS TO HEAL recognizes a need through meeting with and researching Local Counseling Centers, SAVE exam Centers, Rape crisis clinics, Medical care clinics that focus on mental and physical effects from trauma, etc. that help Victims with getting the critical care that they need after a Traumatic and Devastating attack. As HEELS TO HEAL we diligently work to raise donations for these centers that have a need but possibly lack financial support from the community, limited state funding etc. which in turns restricts these centers from providing the necessary care for the victims, patients, women, and children that have been victims of this horrific crime.Viewing the statics tab on this site, we can truly see the unrecognized and devastating facts that leave many clinics strapped and victims without critical care.The long term effects for a victim not to receive care because they either do not know where to turn, or a Crisis Center is financially strapped holding them back from caring for the Rape/Sexual Assault victims could possibly lead to a devastating effect on Victims well-being and future. Through HEELS TO HEAL fundraising efforts, Victims can get the support that they need and recognize that there is Hope to the Healing process and they truly are “SURVIVORS”!
ADDITIONAL GOALS FOR HEELS TO HEAL:
HEELS TO HEALis also Dedicated to fighting against Sexual Violence and Recognizing the Legal issues that Victims face in the Federal Justice System. By Educating the public on the devastating effects or statistics of such a horrific crime, HEELS TO HEAL’s goal with fundraising activities and community support efforts, a Movement can be created to help Victims understand that they can Fight against their attacker/rapist. The Victims must realize that they have the choice and power to go through proper legal course of action in court and not let the Rapist or Sex Offender walk free. Through effective and expert counseling/therapy by qualified therapists and counselors that specialize in working with victims, victims can be guided through their frightening experience and have the confidence to pursue legal action against their attacker. In turn, a much bigger effort will occur in preventing this crime from happening to another individual in our community. If we don’t Step, Speak out and Fight against Sexual Violence, We can’t bring more awareness or Decrease the probability of this happening to a friend, sister, mother, our children, etc. We can all join together in Educating ourselves and Fight against Sexual Violence!
